Sharon Hoek

sharonSharon Hoek grew up in Fish Hoek and has also lived in Zimbabwe, and the UK. She has been married for six years to an avid fisherman. They have a four-year-old daughter. In order to spend quality time with her daughter, Sharon works part time. She enjoys reading, puzzles, the outdoors, a good movie and a good bargain! 

Sharon is qualified as a clinical and counselling psychologist. While working in Scotland she obtained registration with the Health Professions Council in the UK. She has been in private practice for twelve years, practising in Kenilworth and Fish Hoek. Her interests include: depression, anxiety problems, panic disorder, stress, burnout, eating problems, dealing with loss, trauma debriefing and individual therapy.

Sharon believes that most people have experienced some sort of brokenness and that a journey towards restoration is possible. She enjoys interacting with people and believes we should use our talents to help and support others. She also believes in the importance of people's relationships with God, themselves and others.
